STRANN 2016 is the fifth conference in the series since 2009. The aim of the conference is to establish a communication platform for scientists and engineers involved is research of nanosized objects. Conference covers different scientific fields includning life and material sciences, physics, chemistry, and microscopy. Interactive information exchange helps achieving a better understanding of complex aspects of nanoobject research as far as existing state-of-the art methods and new approaches to overcome current and future challenges.

The Conference program consist of plenary and porter sessions. It includes talks by invited specialists from leading world research centers, oral talks and posters observations. Selected papers will be published in peer-reviewed AIP Conference Proceedings.

2015 was proclaimed by UNESCO as The International Year of Light and light-based technologies. In continuation of the global initiative the special section of the conference program is focused on photonics and light science.

The official language of the conference is English.
